Server Pricing Report – June 2019

motherboard and cpu socket

May was another incredibly busy for all of us here at IOFlood, so this month we’re skipping straight to our June edition of the Server Pricing Report.

If you’ve been following along, we’ve been tracking changing parts prices for RAM, SSDs, Hard Drives, CPUs, and a couple of GPUs. Typically this is done monthly, and then shared with WHT and on our blog.

Currently, all listed prices are from ebay, for used hardware. I may start tracking new hardware as well if there is a demand for it.

+ or – indicates if the price has gone up or down since last month

Some noteworthy changes from last month:

  • This month has seen a very noticeable increase in the ready availability of second hand drives, primarily in the larger sizes.
  • The price of RAM is still continuing to decrease in price across almost every model.
  • CPU prices across the board are continuing to drop, but the most significant decrease was definitely seen in the higher end CPU models, particularly in the E5-2699v3.
  • With larger drives, particularly the 12GB HGST HDD’s there are often brand new drives available for lower prices than their second hand counterparts.
