With the recent cPanel price increases, many web hosting providers are considering alternative control panels for the management of their websites.\u00a0 In terms of alternative control panels, as we have previously discussed in our DirectAdmin v. cPanel<\/a> post, DirectAdmin is a formidable competitor.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

With that in mind, we thought it would be a good idea to look at the installation side of the DirectAdmin control panel.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

As with most user guides, there is going to be a level of assumed knowledge in here, primarily being that you know how to install and update your own Operating System.\u00a0 I strongly recommend that before installing your Operating System, you check out the DirectAdmin Installation Requirements located here<\/a>: <\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Once your Operating System is installed and updated, we can start by ordering a licence!\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

I actually found it incredibly easy to order a licence through DirectAdmin.\u00a0 You log into DirectAdmin’s website<\/a>: <\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Click “buy license”<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Make sure that when you\u2019re ordering your licence you enter all the relevant information for your setup.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n
