Server Pricing Report – May 2022
Welcome to the fifth installment of our monthly server price reporting for 2022.
For two years now, we have been tracking changing parts prices for RAM, SSDs, Hard Drives, and various CPUs. Typically this is done monthly, and then shared on our blog.
Currently, all listed prices are from eBay, for used hardware. I may start tracking more new hardware as well if there is a demand for it.

We are now going to show graphs of the prior 12 months of pricing for one type of item each month. We think this will be more visual and interesting than the previous historical pricing info.
This month we would like to highlight the 12-month graph for Hard Drives:
- The change over time is easy to visualize with this graph. Around this time last year the prices for most Hard Disk drives were almost double the price they are now. This is most prevalent in all sizes except the 3TB HDDs, which have remained consistent for the past year. It can be surmised that the prices the Hard Drives are being sold at now are the new market average. Unless we see a sudden spike in Hard Drive demand, similar to the spike that occurred in January of this year, prices should remain low and might even go lower by the end of the year.
- Every 3 months we will be posting a separate article with the prior 12 months pricing for every type of product we track. Stay tuned for the first of these quarterly articles coming out soon.
